As a former dancer and student of the performing arts, Mikel was inspired by the athleticism required to be a professional dancer. With an emphasis on maintenance and recovery, Mikel focuses his practice on patient-centered-care. Mikel believes that relaxation and mental well being go hand in hand with physical performance and thus strives to provide a tranquil massage experience.
As someone who has been living with type one diabetes since the age of 12, Mikel understands the reality of the difficulties presented by many illnesses. With Mikel’s understanding of autoimmune disease as more than just a student of anatomy and physiology, but on a personal level; Mikel hopes to provide knowledge and alternative means of maintenance to his clients.
Mikel graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria BC, in 2016. Mikel has travelled to Thailand and has experienced Thai massage both in Chang Mai, and in Canada. Mikel incorporates Swedish Massage, some aspects of Thai Massage, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy in his practice. Mikel aims to specialize his treatments for each individual client’s needs.
